Anticipating our next book
If you are in a position of power, you are happy. I agree and disagree with this statement. I believe this way because it depends on what type of power you have. If you are a dictator or a tyrant, you can have what ever you want that pleases you. What if you are the Dean of Students and have to expel a kid that you liked, this would probably leave you unhappy.
Everyone is capable of lying, betrayal, and violence, which are basic parts of human nature. I agree with this statement. I believe this way because people will sometimes do these for the great or good. Some people will lie to their friends for their benefit. Everyone is capable of these traits because their will probably be a time in one's life that one of these traits will be needed.

Hits and Misses
Throughout the course of the year I feel that I have grown a lot as a writer. I feel that I have made a lot of process with all types of writing. I feel that I have a better understanding of larger pieces of writing such as a research paper, literary analysis, and personal narrative. I know I will be asked to do these in the future and I think I will be able to do ok on them.
As I have grown as writer, some of the pieces of writing weren't so easy for me though. The toughest piece of writing for me was the research paper. I experienced problems with backing up my thesis and incorporating primary sources into my paper. I soon fixed the problem and learned how to do this correctly the first time I try. The piece of writing I enjoyed the most was the personal narrative. The piece of writing that has tortured me the most are the blog post because I never want to do them and they are sometimes time consuming for me.

Reading Strategies
I have been using a lot of different reading strategies for Purple Hibiscus. I am making connection, developing questions, and making predictions. The most successful strategy for me has been making questions and predictions. I think this has been the most useful because I can know my understanding of the book's details and know if I am really paying attention to the book.
So far I haven't found many challenges throughout the book. I think I am understanding the book in a good way and what I am doing is working. I will keep using these strategies and hope they will keep working for this last piece of reading.
Prompt
One of the favorite things I like to do is watch movies and television. I love to go to the movies with my family. The movies I like to go see are comedy and action movies. The funniest movie I have ever seen at the movie theatre is probably Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. My favorite action movie that I have seen is probably The Avengers.
Another thing I like to do is watch TV. I usually just watch sports and comedy shows. The comedy shows I watch are Seinfeld and The Big Bang Theory. These are the TV shows and movies that I like to watch for entertainment.
